Hey everyone! It’s long past time for an update, I know… but I got some great news today that I wanted to share. Pre-Text, my debut album has been chosen for distribution in stores across the pacific northwest! The Independent Distribution Collective or IDC, has put together its initial list below of stores that have taken on the title so far. Please do everything you can to blast this information out to fans that you think you might know there. Thanks!

Also, the new The Bins album Every Second of the Night is due out this Friday, April 13th! Yes, Friday the 13th. It’s in honor of the darker nature of the follow up EP vs. the first’s (Every Minute of the Day) happier tone set last year. This will be out here on Walternerative Music & 1320 records. Well the start of a new Lunar new year has brought many new things already!
Adam Walter’s debut full length album Pre-Text is available now online here, on bandcamp, soundcloud, rootmusic, and reverbnation. Pick it up today for free / donation and check out the modern jazz fusion sound years in the making.
From funky organ, ripping guitar, syncopated clav, to beatboxed flute and super high sax lines, this record has something for everyone. Odd times, like the Neo Funk Groove #1, yet somehow seem to not loose the casual listener.
While Walter has been busy wrapping up the album art, mixing and mastering, fellow Bins collaborator Clark Barclay (aka Fat Clark) has been diligently slaving away in the lab to finish the next album, follow up EP Every Second of the Night.
Dubbed Every Minute of the Day’s “evil twin,” the album will feature a slightly darker vibe compared to the first, although many of the songs were written at the same time as EMOD. The Bins have launched a Kickstarter to help fundraise for the EP’s release, as they have made many sacrifices recently to focus more on the music, and having been paying for it. Erin’s Oma was speechless. When she realized that the music she’d been listening to was her grandaughter singing, she started to cry.
Beautiful couple Reid Griggs (guitar) and Erin Nieuwenhuijis (vocals), had the wonderful idea to do a cover EP of classic rock, soul tunes as a gift for friends and family for Christmas, and they really outdid themselves.
With support from Adam Walter on saxophones, keys, and bass, and fellow Walternative Music artist Gabriel Soriano, the project’s mellow R&B vibe really hits on tracks like Axis, Bold as Love by Jimi Hendrix.
Music trivia / plug here: Don’t Go!, a track off The Bins’ Every Minute of the Day recently chosen for 1320 records’ Volume 3 compilation, actually features Griggs, who plays slide guitar solo. And Soriano, also part of The Bins rotating clan for live shows, definitely is the icing on the cake on Like a Star.
With a soulful delivery and captivating melodic lines from Nieuwenhuijis, the Covers for Lovers album feels like a bedroom whisper – a pillow talk secret that if you’re lucky enough to hear, it’ll give you that same tingling sensation…

Yourstru.ly + Gorilla v Bear NY Show
Walternative Music & 1320 Records artists The Bins are excited to announce their first east coast USA tour! Starting Thursday, October 20th with the Yours Truly / Gorilla vs. Bear anniversarry bash at Shea Stadium in Brooklyn, New York (see flyer), they will be smashing it down the coast to rock three dates with fellow 1320 artists & musical geniuses Sound Tribe Sector Nine (STS9), Oct. 26-28th.
The tour coincides nicely with the release of the new single Inspiration, featuring MC Sole & remixes by Mochipet, The Great Mundane, Gruvee Musician, and more!
